Product Description
The Broadcom BCM5719 is a quad-port 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet controller IC from the NetXtreme family, offering four independent copper Gigabit ports from a single chip for board designs that need high port density without stacking multiple dual-port devices. It is well established as the onboard quad-Gigabit LOM solution for rack servers, network appliances, and embedded systems that require several isolated Ethernet links for management, production, and failover network segmentation. The chip integrates four copper PHYs on-die behind a PCIe Gen2 host interface sized for aggregate Gigabit throughput, removing the need for discrete PHY components and reducing board area versus a two-chip dual-port solution. Stateless TCP/UDP/IP offloads, NIC Partitioning (NPAR), Wake-on-LAN, and IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet round out a mature feature set with broad OS and hypervisor driver support. As bare silicon, the BCM5719 is intended for OEM integration onto customer-designed server motherboard or NIC PCB layouts.
